Lead Pastor Job Description:

Church Bio:  We are an AOG affiliated congregation with an average weekly attendance of 50 with an established worship ministry, kid’s ministry and a deepening prayer movement in historic Auburn, NY.

We desire to grow in our relationship to Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit, and to have real impact in our community as we proclaim the Gospel both in how we live and in our outreach.

Qualifications:  Our Lead Pastor

• Will demonstrate a lifestyle that meets the biblical qualifications of a pastor/elder/shepherd as stated in:  1 Timothy 3:1-7, 1 Timothy 5:17, Titus 1:5-9 and 1 Peter 5:1-4
• Will have educational/experiential/theological training as affirmed by ordination as a Pastor with the Assemblies of God
• Will have a deep sense of calling to Lakes Church and Auburn,

We desire a Pastor who will:

• Develop and communicate God’s vision for Lakes Church with excellence
• Be open to the work and move of the Holy Spirit in our meetings
• Bring strong Biblical, expository, Spirit-filled teaching with relevance
• Practice exemplary pastoral care, being present and available in times of need
• Train, equip and appoint ministry leaders
• Engage in cooperative planning across all ministries
• Model and lead us to fruitful evangelism and outreach with a focus on both local and global missions.
• Build strong relationships with the body of Christ primarily inside the Lakes Church community with a keen sense of areas of cooperation with other church bodies
• Help develop yearly and look-ahead budgets

The Lead Pastor shall:

• Be the chairman of all the business meetings of the Church and the Executive Council
• Be an ex-officio member of all committees, teams, and departments
• Provide for all the services of the Church and arrange for special meetings (such as, but not limited to, weddings, funerals, etc.)
• The Lead Pastor and spouse, by virtue of the office, shall be a part of the active membership of the Church during their tenure as Lead Pastor
• Oversee daily church operations

We are extending a call to the person God chooses to come and to work with the power of His Spirit as He continues to grow us together at Lakes Church, and to help us develop organizationally as we progress toward seeing Jesus magnified in our lives, in our city, and in the surrounding areas.
