A small church with a big heart looking for the right Pastor
Clintondale Christian Church is looking for a part-time pastor, with the potential to be full time as conditions allow.
Who We Are
We are welcoming church who loves Jesus, and loves our community. Our church was originally Quaker, and we still have the original building of 1811, as well the sanctuary built in the 1880’s, and more recently, a fellowship hall built in the 1980’s. We left the Quaker tradition decades ago, and are currently a non-denominational church, affiliated with Elim Fellowship in Lima, NY, with about 50 believers.
Our Statement Of Beliefs is Bible based, as it is the only infallible Word of God. It can be found at https://www.clintondalechristianchurch.org/what-we-believe. Our sermons are highly bible centric, typically using NKJV, NIV, ESV, or RSV.
Our worship music style is contemporary, with older hymns sprinkled in. We frequently use CCLI Song Select, and the Onsong app, as our worship team mightily moves in the power of the Holy Spirit. “Kids church” is offered during the sermon as well for elementary age children.
Clintondale itself is a small hamlet, located in the Town of Plattekill, in Ulster County, NY. Our physical location of 302 Crescent Avenue is not far from many recreational blessings including the RailTrail, Catskill Mountains, and various other activities here in the Mid-Hudson valley.
Who We Are Looking For
The Bible provides us with a description of a Shepherd, Pastor, and Elder in 1 Peter 5, 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1. It defines a person who is called by God to oversee others by servant leading in humility, with a heart being purified by the blood of Jesus Christ, as he listens to the Holy Spirit. We strongly feel the Pastor (and Elders) are to be male, as described by the Apostle Paul.
We are looking for someone old enough to have learned from their mistakes, and young enough to lead others into the future with energy and vigor. Baptism in the Holy Spirit is important, operating in the gifts along side the congregation. It is preferred that the minimum education level would be bible school, with seminary education clearly beneficial.
The position requires preaching Sundays, and holiday seasons as needed. Visitations to shut-ins and the sick are a blessing as well. Monthly meetings with the Elders include prayer and organization planning.
As a Pastor leads by example, he should be ready to help out in practical ways. It is always a blessing if you can sing, or play an instrument. It would be advantageous to have a technical background as well. With the help of the Deacons and the Elders, caring for the buildings and grounds is accomplished. We will work together with you as a team, to ensure all runs smoothly.
Considering right now this position is bi-vocational, your pay would commensurate with experience and education. Vacation and sick days are generally paid, and we would like to contribute toward your further educational success as well. In the future as growth permits, we certainly look forward to extending this opportunity to full time, including pay and benefits.
