Generation Life Church is a multicultural, multigenerational church that exists to multiply by growing in our faith together and reaching our community for Jesus located in Hillsborough, North Carolina –  30 minutes west of Raleigh-Durham.

The Worship & Creative Director leads people into powerful moments of worship, communicates clearly and creatively, and helps support the heart and flow of the church behind the scenes. This is a key leadership role for someone who loves people, thrives in both creative and structured environments, and helps move the mission forward with excellence and heart.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

WORSHIP LEADERSHIP

  • Lead worship on Sundays with spiritual depth and musical excellence
  • Personally lead many of the songs during worship, while also empowering vocalists to lead regularly in alignment   with our value of multiplication
  • Resource and encourage team members to grow in skill, spiritual depth, and unity—fostering strong community and consistent communication among musicians and vocalists
  • Champion a healthy, Spirit-led worship culture
  • Motivate and equip the team to grow and create powerful worship environments continually
  • Provide oversight of scheduling, communication, and Sunday worship planning

CREATIVE & COMMUNICATIONS

  • Collaborate with the existing Creative Team to enhance and elevate visual elements (slides, screens, graphics) for Sunday services
  • Coordinate weekly internal communication—including a GenLife newsletter—to keep our church family informed and inspired
  • Lead storytelling and marketing efforts that introduce GenLife to the broader community, reflecting our heart and culture
  • Strategize and manage social media content that communicates life-change, belonging, and the benefits of being part of a life-giving church
  • Ensure that all communication reflects the voice, values, and vision of GenLife

PASTORAL ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

  • Assist the Lead Pastor with weekly scheduling, planning, and communication
  • Help manage special projects and timelines that support the church’s vision
  • Handle behind-the-scenes prep for Sunday services, events, and outreach
  • Provide consistent, reliable support that frees the pastor to lead with clarity

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of worship leading experience
  • Established musicianship that supports the flow of service and style
  • Profile and desire to showcase the kingdom of God
  • Spiritually mature individual who knows how to enter into the presence of God both in private and public.
  • Established references of church attendance, participation, and stewardship

Working Conditions:

This role typically does not require travel, except when authorized by the supervisor for general office support or training purposes. The noise level in the work environment is conducive to a musical environment with occasional loud noise.  The position is primarily in a stage setting that involves continuous movement with frequent interaction with church members, visitors, and lead team members. The role requires sitting, standing, and light lifting of up to 50 pounds. The environment is fast-paced and may include frequent interruptions or changing priorities.
