The Lead Pastor at Heart Cry Christian Fellowship (HCCF) is the staff member to whom
the Elders have delegated responsibility to provide spiritual guidance to the church body
and leadership of the staff.

Heart Cry Christian Fellowship is a family of believers committed to the lordship of Jesus
Christ and the historic, essential beliefs of evangelical Christianity. Our desire is to know
God the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ, and to be conformed into His image by the
power of the Holy Spirit.
We are an independent congregation, which means we are led locally by our pastor, and
governed by our own board.
Incorporated August 27, 1999, HCCF exists to advance the Kingdom of God locally and
globally by equipping its diverse congregation through sound biblical teaching.
Together with the Lead Pastor, the Elders are responsible for discerning the direction and
guiding the spiritual growth of this church body.
The goal of HCCF is to advance the Kingdom of God in a way which is pleasing to God
our Father, glorifying to Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, and powered by and in
partnership with the Holy Spirit. The candidate is required to provide leadership and
guidance, in line with sound doctrine, to the body of believers who attend HCCF, as well
as to the staff. This person must work well with a team of ministry leaders and Elders.
The candidate must lead with humility and in the wisdom that the Lord our God provides
to all who ask

Since our abilities and gifting are from God, the candidate must have a practical and
intellectual understanding of the Biblical principles around these giftings. The candidate
must be able to explain what they believe their gifts and abilities are for the congregation
and staff of HCCF, and for the church of God as a whole.
The Lead Pastor will work with the Elders to help identify and encourage the giftings and
calling of all the saints. The Lead Pastor role will involve the administration of church
activities, including leadership and management of staff.
 The candidate must have a demonstrated background of ministry which is led by
the Holy Spirit.
 The candidate must demonstrate vision in keeping with trustworthy Biblical
 The candidate must adhere to the Bible as the Word of God, and base leadership
and instruction on it.
 The candidate must demonstrate humility and sound judgement on an ongoing
and historical basis.
 The candidate must demonstrate a lifestyle of integrity but be open and honest
about human failings.
The candidate must provide references which indicate the above attributes.
 Experience in leadership
 Experience with change management and leading organizational transition
 Sunday AM service with biblical based message
 Lead communion
 Lead corporate prayer

 Lead or assist midweek Bible study
 Perform marriages in a Biblical manner
 Perform funeral duties
 Perform baptisms
 Be engaged in local ministry/outreach
 Be personally engaged in the local community
 Encourage HCCF members to be actively engaged in local outreach by providing
teaching, moral support, and presenting opportunities
 Be involved in HCCF committees in at least an advisory capacity
